Sense is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the organisation and ensuring the financial implications of decisions are understood by non-financial managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and timely financial management information, including budgets, forecasts, and cost centre reports, to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure the financial good health of the organisation by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and reconciliations.
  • Present financial performance to senior management, providing clear and concise explanations of key financial metrics and drivers.
  • Support budget holders with commercial business, capital, and investment proposals, ensuring that financial implications are fully considered.
  • Challenge operational directors and managers to ensure that all financial concepts have been properly considered before making business decisions.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant financial qualification, such as CCAB, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner in a retail accounting environment, with knowledge of EPOS systems and stock accounting.
  • Experience of developing and monitoring annual budgets within a multi-cost centre environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Ability to influence and partner with senior management and colleagues across the finance department.
  • Good knowledge of management accounting requirements in a retail environment, including charity retail accounting and VAT.
