Our client, a PE-backed SME business, requires a seasoned Interim Group Financial Controller with expertise in controlling, accounting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial and management accounting, current accounting practices, and methods. They must also possess experience in working with PE-backed businesses or similar environments where cash and working capital management is critical. The role is based in London and requires the ability to operate at pace and balance competing priorities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver best-in-class financial control team through effective team design, engagement, development, performance management, and recruitment.
  • Embed a robust internal controls and review framework to ensure accuracy of reported financial information.
  • Lead preparation of Group management results and consolidated statutory results.
  • Lead an efficient and accurate monthly close process across all regions, achieving the highest quality of balance sheet review and reconciliations.
  • Manage balance sheet risks, opportunities, and provisions, flagging impact on P&L and inputting to forecast/budget processes as appropriate.
  • Maximise working capital, applying commercial judgement to manage suppliers and customers with a focus on cash.
  • Provide financial assistance to subsidiaries, including management reporting guidance and cashflow statement support.
  • Own consolidated financial statements.
  • Understanding, interpreting, and explaining the financial results and records of the operating businesses.

The initial contract is intended to be 3 months, and the hourly rate is £50/hr - £60/hr.
