Job Description

Buckinghamshire Mind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to oversee the Safe Haven Service, a welcoming and non-stigmatising environment for individuals experiencing mental health crises. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team of Mental Health Crisis Support Workers, providing emotional support, and developing strategies to increase independence and self-management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Safe Haven team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and the smooth running of the service.
  • Coach and support team members in providing emotional support and developing therapeutic relationships with service users.
  • Supervise and guide team members in risk assessment and safety planning, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of service users.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, including NHS and social care services, to ensure effective referrals and support.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, promoting their independence and self-management skills.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in mental health support services, with a strong background in crisis management and safety planning.
  • Excellent team management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with service users, team members, and external agencies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory authorities, including NHS and social care services.
