Job Title: Head of Power Origination

Uniper is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Power Origination team in the UK and Nordic markets.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned leader to develop and execute a strong transaction pipeline of upstream power deals, including PPAs, tolls, flexibility transactions, and other structured power deals. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a high-performing team, providing market intelligence to support business strategies, and championing continuous improvement of operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of power originators focused on the UK and Nordic markets
  • Develop and execute a strong transaction pipeline of upstream power deals
  • Provide market intelligence to support business strategies and product development
  • Champion continuous improvement of operational processes and transaction execution platform
  • Build a collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture
Requirements
  • Strong network of relationships across the value chain
  • In-depth understanding and significant experience of relevant power markets
  • Experience in a leadership role, including line management responsibility
  • Strong sense of spotting and developing commercial opportunities
  • Established track record of originating, negotiating, and closing diverse types of power transactions
  • Excellent understanding of risk concepts, including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks
  • Sound understanding of various power transaction contracts
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a 'can-do' attitude to develop the business
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and collaborative way of working
