Job Title: Lead Capability Engineer for Advanced Combat Systems

The Capability team within the Future Combat Air (FCA)/Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) division at Leonardo UK is pioneering the development of cutting-edge technologies and innovative concepts for next-generation combat air capabilities.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to deliver both technical and strategic guidance in the areas of Multifunction Processing (MFP) and Digital Backbone (DBB), with a strong emphasis on enhancing situational awareness and non-kinetic capabilities, particularly in relation to the Team Tempest initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide techno-strategic contributions to the delivery of FCAS-AP and FCAS-TI programs
  • Assist in the formulation of the MFP/DBB technology and engineering roadmap
  • Contribute to GCAP Operational Analysis concerning MFP/DBB capabilities
  • Oversee the organization, facilitation, and documentation of lessons learned for MFP/DBB initiatives
  • Manage the setup and facilitation of cross-Line of Business (LoB) FAST forums
  • Collaborate with the Head of FCAS Technologies and Head of Operational Capability to define MFP/DBB technical requirements
  • Engage proactively across FCA and other LoBs to foster interaction and information exchange
  • Support the scouting of disruptive technologies and applied research in the MFP/DBB domain
  • Facilitate international development efforts related to MFP/DBB

Required Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge: A degree in Engineering with experience in Research & Development, strong relationship-building skills with project stakeholders, and a solid understanding of situational awareness and non-kinetic concepts within the Combat Air sector.
