Vulcain Engineering Group, a global leader in engineering consultancy services, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Integrated Management System Auditor to join our Technical Communities in the South West of England.

This exciting opportunity is part of our UK business, well-positioned within the UK Nuclear industry, and supports the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Role

The Integrated Management System Auditor will be responsible for completing and leading internal audits of the effective deployment of the IMS. Using established audit processes, they will deliver the annual audit schedule, planned, executed, reported, and findings managed to resolution.

The IMS Auditor will provide confidence that the processes and practices being operated as part of the Quality Management System are robust and meet the requirements of Licence Condition 17 respecting Nuclear Safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a risk-based internal management system audit programme to provide assurance that IMS processes are operated in conformance to requirements and are effective in delivering intended results.
  • Liaise with Environmental and Health and Safety functions to capture their inputs into the development of the Integrated Management System Audit Schedule.
  • Engage and coordinate existing management system auditors, defining the scope, criteria, and objectives for each IMS audit.
  • Ensure audits are planned effectively with stakeholder and auditee engagement.
  • Identify and categorise findings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Monitor process non-conformance within the organisational learning and improvement tool to ensure Non-Conformances are closed in a timely manner.
  • Undertake monitoring, measurement, and analysis of audit results to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with IMS Engineers to ensure audit data is available for review by Certification Body Assessor.
Requirements
  • IRCA Lead auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).
  • Experience in the application of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards in a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Self-managing with strong organisational skills.
  • Strong advocate for best practice, able to support and defend practical deployment and solutions.
  • Analysis of data, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
  • Ability to influence and provide constructive challenge.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
