Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at N P Aerospace Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering new defence protection products and enhancing manufacturing processes.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, quality, and project teams to design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and products. You will apply continuous improvement techniques to optimize manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing readiness reviews, facilities specification, and implementation.
  • Interface between Operations, Programme, and Engineering to introduce new manufacturing products and processes.
  • Support process engineering requirements, including problem resolution and corrective action implementation.
  • Lead process improvements, including single-piece flow and cost reductions.
  • Manage performance and related problem-solving within the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Apply Lean Management principles and introduce Lean methodologies and tools as necessary.
  • Evaluate and interrogate CAD models and drawings, and supervise or perform production prototyping and initial production runs.
  • Deliver Poke Yoke solutions for repeatable assembly.
  • Generate and optimize press and CNC programmes for material and time efficiencies.
  • Maintain the accuracy of engineering released BOMs and support business safety targets.
  • Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and support safe, healthy, and environmentally sound working practices.
  • Work with tooling and equipment suppliers to ensure right-first-time delivery.
Requirements
  • Experienced Manufacturing Engineering practitioner in various operational environments.
  • Understanding of Lean concepts and methodologies with the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Experience with vehicles and fabrications.
  • Experience using practical problem-solving methodologies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Preferably degree or HNC qualified in a relevant discipline.
