Job Overview

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Manager to lead our Residential Childcare team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Residential Home, ensuring compliance with OFSTED, legislation, and company policies.
  2. Develop and implement effective safeguarding practices, working closely with staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our young people.
  3. Manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality care.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, including Local Authorities, Police, and Health agencies.
  5. Take ownership of the Designated Safeguarding Lead role, ensuring that safeguarding matters are addressed promptly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Must be willing to undertake the Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) within a specified timeframe, if not already obtained.
  • Detailed understanding of current legislation, including but not limited to: Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Children's Act 1989 / 2014, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), Health & Safety At Work Act (1974).
  • 3 years' work experience working with young people within a residential environment, including 2 years at a management level, supervising others within a care role to children.
  • Previous experience in a Senior/Deputy or Registered Manager role in a Residential Children's Care Setting.
  • Experience of working with young people with emotional and behavioural issues and complex needs, including challenging behaviour.
