We are seeking a highly skilled Ecological Consultant to join our client's small and friendly ecological team in Norwich. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £25,553 - £28,000 and a generous pension contribution.

The focus of this service is on providing expert ecological advice to clients across various sectors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Protected species surveys and assessments (including bats, great crested newts, water voles, reptiles, Schedule 1 birds)
  • Site and Habitat surveys and assessment
  • Conservation management advice (species and habitats)
  • Ecological Clerk of Works on selected projects

To be successful in this role, you will require a degree in ecology or a related field, as well as minimum 2 years' experience working in ecological consultancy or equivalent sectors.

You will enjoy working collaboratively with a range of clients on different projects and have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience of ecological field survey work
  • Understanding of relevant UK environmental legislation
  • Membership of (or working towards such) the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or equivalent professional body with professional code of conduct
  • Experience in report writing (including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, management plans and Ecological Impact Assessments), and development of mitigation measures
  • A full clean UK driving licence
