The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a broad range of public relations related support to enhance the reputation of our charity client. This includes operating and managing the day-to-day press office activities, establishing and maintaining up-to-date media lists and press office admin processes.

As a key member of our communications team, you will work closely with the Snr Social Officer and Communications Officer to develop a bank of case studies/lived experiences suitable for reactive and proactive press activity.

You will also write press copy, press releases, media quotes and press statements to respond to media enquiries, leveraging news generation skills to create a steady stream of proactive press stories.

The estimated salary for this role is £30,000 per annum, which will be pro rata due to the part-time nature of the job.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To operate and manage the day-to-day press office activities
  2. To establish and maintain up-to-date media lists and press office admin processes
  3. To work with the Snr Social Officer and Communications Officer to develop a bank of case studies/lived experiences suitable for reactive and proactive press activity

Requirements include 3 years of experience ideally gained in relevant fields (health/not-for-profit/purpose brands/journalism), outstanding writing skills, good understanding of news generation, news agendas and how to pitch a story.
