Job Summary

We are seeking a Highway Excavation Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for excavating highways while complying with NRSWA Code of Practice 1991 and HSG47.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Excavate highways in compliance with NRSWA Code of Practice 1991 and HSG47
  • Install new duct work and chambers
  • Clear blockages
  • Rod, Rope and Testing
  • Comply with Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH)
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • NRSWA Essential Units 1-3, 6,7, CSCS Desirable
  • Unit 1 (LA) - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
  • Unit 2 (O1) - Signing, lighting and guarding
  • Unit 3 (O2) - Excavation in the highway
  • Unit 4 (O3) - Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
  • Unit 5 (O4) - Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials
  • Unit 6 (O5) - Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials
  • Unit 7 (O6) - Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials
  • Unit 8 (O7) - Reinstatement of concrete slabs
  • Unit 9 (O8) - Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways
  • Q020 (DB1), K008, Q021, Q13, Q19
Salary and Benefits
