Job Description

Job Title: Cost Controller

Job Summary:

HCLTech is seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining project costs and ensuring they are aligned with the as-sold position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Maintain project costs to complete budgets in alignment with the as-sold position and in coordination with budget holders.
  • Forecast Estimation: Support forecast estimation and verify the accuracy of actual-to-date costs, including material, labor, manufactured costs, suppliers' invoices, timesheets, and travel expenses.
  • Cost Risk Management: Align with the project team and time schedule to ensure forecasted cost risks are accurately captured and costs are time-phased.
  • Cost Control: Check and control cost movements, compare with current scope and progress, and validate the accuracy of estimates.
  • Communication: Communicate cost status, forecasts, and risks to budget holders and drive/support risk mitigation and cost-out.
  • Financial Reporting: Present all financial data in a transparent way and attend project and management reviews to present cost status, budget deviations, and root causes.
  • Reconciliation: Align with the Finance Controller to ensure reconciliation takes place between approved project financial data and books.
  • Cost Planning: Align with the planner to ensure costs and schedule are aligned, providing time-phased cost forecasts for sales pacing and reporting on cost movement root causes impacting sales targets.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in finance or engineering with financial training.

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in cost controlling of turnkey projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading large and complex infrastructure projects.
  • Project finance deep understanding with expert knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience managing small teams within a large project.
  • Risk management processes and tools understanding.
  • Project planning experience and good P6 planning software understanding are an advantage.
