We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Engineering Manager to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Platform Nuclear Engineering Department, you will be responsible for facilitating the Reactor Plant build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the maintenance of Reactor Plant design intent during the build and commissioning phases.
  2. Support assessment of plant design changes.
  3. Assess plant build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases.
  4. Provide technically sound challenges to existing requirements.
  5. Write and present reports to communicate nuclear issues to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Liaise with MoD authorities, Naval Authorities, and assurance agencies as required to ensure the technical solution can be accepted against the requirements and certified by the necessary Naval Authority.
  7. Lead the assessment and management of complex inter-domain or inter-function issues identified during the close out of the final design, through change or through build/commissioning.
  8. Technical approval of team outputs.
  9. RTG and PAG representative.
  10. WBTA Letter of Delegation.
Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Degree Qualified Engineering/Physical Science discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics.
  2. Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations.
  3. Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle.
  4. Previous Nuclear plant experience.

Desirable:

  1. Proven technical report writing skills.
  2. Presentation skills.
