About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our dynamic school community in the Teesside area. As a PE Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and teamwork among students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (and potentially KS5)
  • Foster positive learning environments that encourage students to reach their potential
  • Organise and supervise a range of sports activities, clubs, and events
  • Support students in developing lifelong skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students during physical activities
  • Contribute to whole-school development, including pastoral responsibilities where appropriate
  • Liaise with other staff to support the physical and academic progress of students
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Relevant degree or qualification in physical education or a related field
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for physical education and student development
  • Ability to teach a range of sports and adapt to the needs of students with different physical abilities
  • Have an Enhanced DBS and registered on Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience coaching or leading extracurricular activities
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety in PE
