Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Mental Health team in the East area of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). This is a fixed-term/secondment position for months to cover maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver client-centered and specialist, occupationally focused assessments and interventions to adults with serious mental illness referred into the community mental health team.
  • Work as part of the adult mental health Occupational Therapy service to support patient recovery journeys across the service pathway from crisis to admission and community services.
  • Develop and maintain a CPD portfolio to ensure lifelong learning and evidence-based practice.
  • Supervise and develop junior staff, and take Occupational Therapy students on Practice Education placements.
  • Contribute to and lead areas of service development, including audit, evidence-based practice research, and service evaluation.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of mental health Occupational Therapy for adults with serious mental illness.
  • Ability to effectively use tailored and group interventions, and establish and harness community networks to facilitate recovery journeys.
  • Commitment to excellence in seeking robust models of intervention to enhance occupational participation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, following professional codes of conduct and ethics.
