Job Summary
Bournes is seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Driver to join our team. As a key member of our removals team, you will be responsible for driving our vehicles and supporting our crew with removals duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive our vehicles safely and efficiently to designated addresses, ensuring timely delivery of goods and equipment.
- Support our crew with removals duties, including packing, loading, and unloading vehicles.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the office.
- Ensure all loads are safely secured and that there is no risk of waste or debris falling from the vehicle or trailer.
- Load and unload vehicles adhering to safe working practices and complete risk assessments as required.
- Fuel the vehicle and ensure it is clean externally and internally to required standards.
- Present Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
- Report accidents and incidents immediately to the Transport Manager.
- Comply with all company, UK, and European Safety and Driving Regulations.
- Provide proof of DCPC.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year HGV driving experience.
- Up-to-date DCPC and a Digi Tacho Card.
- Valid Passport.
- Willingness to work unsocial hours and nights away.
- Physical fitness to pack, lift, and load/unload vehicles, dismantle, and reassemble household furniture.
