About the Role:

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a high-profile utilities project based in the UK. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial team in managing the project's financial aspects, including cost management, procurement, and contractual management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of valuations and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • Support in managing subcontractor accounts, including variations and final accounts, to maintain a smooth financial operation throughout the project's life cycle.
  • Help with forecasting and budgeting to ensure the project stays within budget and meets its financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions to minimize risks and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide assistance in pricing and negotiating contract changes to ensure the best possible outcomes for the company.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with various teams to maintain project progression and ensure effective communication.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in utilities is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong numerical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop within a fast-paced working environment.
