Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Associate Planner to join our Central Planning team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to work closely with experienced colleagues and senior leaders, undertaking a wide range of planning tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing planning consultancy advice, reporting to clients and senior colleagues, attending project meetings, and producing reports to support planning applications and appeals. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, leadership potential, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert planning consultancy advice to colleagues and clients
  • Report to clients and senior colleagues on project progress
  • Attend and report to clients at regular project meetings
  • Identify opportunities to win further work for the department
  • Develop and maintain active communication within the team and other departments
  • Assist in drafting Local Plan representations and supporting sites

Requirements

  • A team player with leadership potential
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • MRICS / MRTPI qualified
  • Practical understanding of Property
  • Experience in a similar role (preferably at least 3-6 years planning experience)
  • Strategic approach to problem-solving
  • Full driving license and access to own car for business requirements
