AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. br/>
The Data Centre Global Engineering Operations organization is looking for an individual with proven and tested leadership skills to help bring to fruition a newly developed Facilities Operations Centre (FOC). The FOC is responsible for 24X7 monitoring of the data centre's physical infrastructure and will serve as a facilitator for all Large Scale Events (LSEs) and Critical Site Events (CSEs). This role will also serve as a central monitoring location for the facility electrical and mechanical systems. br/>The ideal candidate will need to have an understanding of data centre IT infrastructure and data centre facilities infrastructure and how the two entities co-exist. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements:

  1. Monitors the data centre Amazon facilities infrastructure platform
  2. Serves as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams
  3. Assists with the development of communication and escalation protocols designed to improve the team's performance
  4. Contributes to outage post mortem analysis
  5. Ensures records are updated in a timely manner
  6. Assists with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
  7. Assists with the development of tools that will enhance the team's performance
  8. The ability to support a 24X7 environment (This is shift work which may require that you work weekends and holidays).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Able to dive deep and never out of touch with the details of the business or the technology
  2. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
  3. Ability to communicate with senior leaders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 2+ years' experience in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) or similar
  2. 2+ Years' Experience in Data Centre Engineering/ Operations
  3. 1+ years of experience working with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems
