About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at West Leeds Primary Care Network. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team to deliver high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols and update patients' medical records accordingly.
- Respond to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional manner, referring to the clinical pharmacist when appropriate.
- Process hospital correspondence, such as eDANS/TANs, and action MHRA/supply shortage alerts.
- Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes, and other primary care settings.
- Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and members of the multidisciplinary team to support integration across health and social care.
About Us
West Leeds Primary Care Network provides services for 6 practices in and around Pudsey/Bramley, with a total patient population of approximately 70,000. We have a mature workforce covering many clinical disciplines, including occupational therapists, social prescribers, physiotherapists, paramedics, dietitians, healthcare assistants, health and wellbeing coaches, physician associates, care coordinators, and mental wellbeing practitioners. We also mentor pre-registration pharmacists, providing a wealth of clinical support within the team.
Person Specification
- Essential qualifications include a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills, current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and evidence of commitment to continued professional development.
- Desirable qualifications include a BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Services and post-registration training in specific areas of pharmacy care homes or clinical areas.
