About the Role

Cumbria Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing high-quality patient care, including basic patient observations, blood sugar, ECG recording, and urinalysis as requested by the GP practice.
  • Carry out venepuncture and simple dressings as agreed.
  • Contribute to housekeeping and other duties as required, ensuring clinical equipment is clean, in good working order, and stored correctly.
  • Act as a chaperone and support patients during examinations.
  • Undertake training to acquire the skills necessary for development in the post.
Requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Ability to follow clear instructions and feedback to senior staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassionate values and behaviors needed for dignified care.
  • Willingness to undertake training.
  • Ability to carry out venepuncture, ECG recording, urinalysis, and basic patient health checks/observations.
