Job Title: Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at DesScanlanITRecruitment. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing our data services, ensuring that our business systems are optimized and that our data is high-value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate new data sets and data sources using automation tools
  • Develop secure data marts for end-user self-service reporting
  • Recommend change projects to enable the data service to deliver increased business value
  • Work within a quality environment with suitable records to demonstrate adherence to process and procedure
  • Ensure transitioning to LIVE includes training and documentation on the changes to both end-users and the Service Desk team
  • Work with suppliers of key systems to understand their systems and data
  • Ensure data solutions incorporate information security requirements, including GDPR
  • Design and delivery of appropriate data verification/validation
  • Maintain an awareness of developments and best practices in relevant business intelligence and reporting tools and technologies
  • Provide support for the Head of Department in delivering the wider Information Services strategy

Requirements:

  • SQL server, T-SQL, SSRS, and experience of creating secure data marts
  • Data warehouse and ETL technologies
  • PowerBI, and PowerBI gateway to create and deliver reports and dashboards with automated dataflows
  • ERP solutions and data models for Sales order processing, manufacturing, warehousing, etc.
  • Knowledge of Source Code control systems, change management practices, and release management practices
  • Excellent communication and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Agile project management concepts
  • M365, Teams/SharePoint environment
  • Information security, including GDPR
