Salary DetailsThe estimated salary for this position is £28,000 per annum. This includes a generous pension plan, life assurance, income protection, company sick pay, car salary sacrifice scheme, health and wellbeing programme, flu and eye care vouchers, discounts on external retailers, employee assistance programme, healthcare cash plan, and cycle to work scheme.
Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, administering absence, and supporting employees with payroll-related queries. Your tasks will include:
- Ensuring payroll deadlines are met
- Processing starter and leaver information
- Adjusting payments accordingly for sick pay or other statutory payments
- Completing and returning payroll data to HMRC, pension providers, Courts Service, Office of National Statistics, and Child Support Agency
- Assisting with year-end processes and reporting
- Developing payroll processes, procedures, and system updates
To succeed in this role, you should have experience working as a payroll professional in a busy, fast-paced environment. A qualification in payroll is advantageous but not essential, as experience is key. You should also possess:
- Experience in payroll and pension processing, along with knowledge of benefit taxation implications
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Experience dealing with DWP, HMRC, and Courts
- Working knowledge of RTI and Auto Enrolment
- Payroll software knowledge: Workday would be ideal but not essential
