Highway Engineering Manager

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee highway engineering works and related activities. As a Technical Supervision Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with standards and adding value to our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead technical supervision teams, guaranteeing adherence to standards and contributing to the county's asset portfolio.
- Act as the lead expert for the supervision of construction-related tasks across the Place department.
- Create and manage systems for the supervision and acceptance of Section 278/38 works.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Development Control, Programme Delivery Office, and external service providers.
- Monitor and report on construction progress, ensuring accurate records are kept to assist in dispute management and pricing variations.
- Managerial experience in a related field at a senior level.
- Extensive experience in supervising a wide range of construction activities, particularly highway construction.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage technical supervision, and resolve disputes.
The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. This position offers hybrid working options, subject to service needs.
