The Role

As an Aerospace Engineering Manager at QinetiQ, you will have a unique opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled engineers in a cutting-edge environment. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the Aerospace Engineering Team and providing technical expertise to our new product development (NPD) field, including the Banshee NG project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, and direct a team of engineers in a design and development environment
  • Provide technical leadership to projects, ensuring successful integration of inputs from subject matter experts
  • Line manage the Aerospace Engineering Team and develop junior employees
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including design reports and drawings
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support flight trials and customer flight tests, with estimated 10% travel overseas

Essential Experience:

  • Experience of managing complex engineering projects through full lifecycle
  • High level technical understanding of aerodynamics, aerostructures, and aerospace engineering
  • Experience of working with Project Managers to ensure projects are on track
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with previous line management experience

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical engineering, with extensive relevant engineering experience
