Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trust Doctor to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have completed their Foundation Training and have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Main Responsibilities

The Trust Doctor will be responsible for providing clinical care for women in the outpatient and inpatient setting, working at Registrar level and contributing to the development of teaching and research initiatives. The post holder will be expected to work towards obtaining CESR in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and will have opportunities to complete ATSMs in their area of interest.

About the Role

This is a 12-month contract with a mid-point review to determine whether it will be extended further. The post will be based mainly at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital, with some clinical commitments at community sites. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in teaching, quality improvement, and their own professional development.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full GMC registration
  • Medical degree from a university recognised by the GMC
  • Completion of Foundation Training or equivalent
  • Ability to work full shift pattern
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable qualifications include ALS/ATLS/APLS and evidence of continuing professional development. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and have a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
