We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Ltd. As a key member of our ecology team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering high-quality work and assessments for a range of clients and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage projects throughout their life-cycle, providing advice on ecology and biodiversity to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Plan, lead on, and conduct ecological surveys.
- Undertake environmental impact assessments, biodiversity net gain assessments, and prepare a range of ecological reports and strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, as well as with contractors and regulatory bodies.
- Degree level or higher in Ecology or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in ecological consultancy, with proven experience in project management, including for medium to large-scale and complex sites.
- Experience in advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain.
- Demonstrable experience in complex report writing, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) reports, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Environmental Statements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- An advanced knowledge of ecology and wildlife protection in the context of the UK legislative and planning system.
- Membership or eligibility to membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
