Hangar 13 AI Designer Job Description

Hangar 13 is a leading AAA video game development studio that creates immersive and engaging experiences across all major platforms. We are seeking an experienced AI Designer to join our team and contribute to the creation of innovative AI systems and behaviors that enhance gameplay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop AI behaviors and features that provide a great gameplay experience
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to implement, tune, and balance combat AI
  • Analyze and validate feedback from the team and external user testing
  • Author and maintain design documentation
  • Ensure that players can understand AI intention and plan their combat accordingly
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of game design principles and the role of AI in gameplay loops
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine
  • Passion for creating complex, balanced systems and linking those to desired player experiences
  • Ability to drive prioritization and scheduling of work for owned feature(s)
  • Strong documentation skills, proficiency with Wiki systems or Confluence is a plus
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work well with team members from other subject areas and in other locations
