The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences seeks to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Academic Lecturer in Human Genetics to develop and deliver high-quality education on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated professional with expertise in Human Medical Genetics, data analysis, and/or lab methods. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to mentoring students and developing educational modules and programmes centred on skills acquisition and employability. They will be confident in engaging with and training students using modern educational approaches. The successful candidate must have appropriate subject knowledge and the ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level.
About You
Candidates should have an excellent academic background with a relevant PhD in Medical Genetics and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have strong interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team and have a strong commitment to mentoring students.
