Job Overview

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking an experienced clerk to join the scanning bureau team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and scanning notes onto the Trust's electronic patient record, supporting clinicians to provide 24-hour access to clinical information and enhancing patient care.

Main Duties

  • Retrieve notes from around the hospital and prepare documents for scanning
  • Scan notes in-house and respond to telephone queries
  • Provide assistance to wards relating to electronic patient records

Person Specification

  • NHS experience
  • General office experience
  • Experience of working with sensitive and/or personal data
  • Organisational and planning skills

Qualifications

  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy equivalent to GCSE
  • Desirable: ECDL or equivalent experience

Technical Skills

  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of computer literacy and numerical accuracy

Knowledge

  • Clear understanding of information governance and its importance within the healthcare setting
