We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Bath. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in ionospheric radio physics, with a focus on understanding the effects of ionospheric irregularities on radio signals.



The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, such as space physics, electrical engineering, or a related area. You will have a strong background in ionospheric radio science, with experience in working with incoherent scatter radars, propagation effects, and TEC fluctuations.



As a Research Scientist, you will be part of a dynamic team of researchers working on the FINESSE project, which aims to determine the origin of large-to-small scale ionospheric irregularities and their impact on radio signals. You will be responsible for conducting individual and collaborative research, analyzing data from EISCAT_3D, ground and spaceborne GNSS, and other instruments.



The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You will be passionate about space weather science and have a strong desire to contribute to the advancement of this field.



We offer a competitive salary of £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a generous employer contributory pension scheme, annual leave allowance, and a range of personal and professional development opportunities.
