Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at CSC Recruitment. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed bills of quantities, compiling tender comparisons, and presenting tenders at settlement meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Comply with estimating best practice processes and ensure accurate records of tender and contract documents.
  2. Prepare detailed bills of quantities to allow tenderers to price works accurately and compile tender comparisons to ensure only complete sub-contract bids are considered.
  3. Present tenders at settlement meetings and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best winning approaches.
  4. Offer advice on risks, value engineering options, and other work-winning strategies.
  5. Ensure all risks are understood and evaluated so that they are considered for inclusion in the tender presented at the settlement.
  6. Handover tenders that are won to the project team and maintain contact to ensure all knowledge is successfully transferred.
  7. Work closely with the supply chain to ensure they continue to provide competitive tenders and provide honest, timely feedback when a tender is lost.
  8. Contribute to the database of tenders for historical data and average rates.
  9. Provide cost planning and other cost advice both internally and to consultants if required.
Requirements
  1. A recognised construction-based higher education qualification (HNC/HND, etc.) or minimum 6 years' experience in an estimating role.
  2. Knowledge of the construction industry processes, accurate measurement and billing of tender information, and ability to identify and evaluate risks.
  3. Proven planning and process management skills, knowledge of different procurement routes, particularly design and build, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. A methodical approach to duties, flexible team member, keen and enthusiastic approach to work, positive outlook, clear and effective communication skills, and self-motivation.
