Vineyard Supervisor Job Description

Estimated salary: £25,000 - £40,000 per annum.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vineyard Supervisor to join our team at one of the UK's specialist wine producers. As a key member of our vineyard team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the vineyard, its staff, contractors, and visitors.

You will report directly to the Area Vineyard Manager and be accountable for vineyard management, people management, and budget management. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurate record-keeping and leading the annual harvest.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cane pruning, leaf removal, leaf trimming, and fruit thinning to optimize yield and grape quality.
  • Supervising and motivating vineyard staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output.
  • Managing on-site health and safety, including staff inductions, risk assessments, and issue of PPE.
  • Developing and implementing training plans for vineyard staff.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including weekly job monitoring sheets, monthly planning charts, and pesticide records.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a similar vineyard or horticultural role and possess excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
