About the Role

Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a skilled commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Senior Corporate Counsel – Real Estate supporting AWS, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within the cloud computing and service industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions and leasing.
  • Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements and leases.
  • Manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients.
  • Develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team.
  • Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.
  • Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer with at least ten years of post-qualification legal experience as a real estate lawyer.
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts in English.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Enthusiastic, enjoy working hard, being challenged, and working in a fun, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills.
