Lead EC&I Engineer - The Role

Join Automation Experts, a renowned company providing sustainable & efficient water treatment solutions.

Industries: Nuclear, Mining, Power Generation, Oil & Gas.

Business Size: £3M T/O. We require an analytical person with AutoCAD Electrical experience.

Position: Lead EC&I Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + 6% Matched Pension & flexi-time.

Location: Hybrid working available. West Midlands.

Hours: 37.5 hours. Early Friday Finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create budgeting/ pricing models for the controls part of the project.
  • Review, understand, interpret and clarify all applicable specifications.
  • Work closely with the Project/ Engineering Managers to establish project schedules, meet project deadlines and control project engineering costs.
  • Support the Project Manager interfacing the electrical/ control aspects of the project between customer and supplier throughout proposals, design, manufacture, install and commissioning.
  • Create control system design specifications and RFQ packages to outsource the design and supply of the control system.
  • Owning the electrical and control aspects of projects through the engineering process.
  • Manage/ create and issue to relevant parties electrical documents including control philosophies, FDSs, load schedules and wiring schematics.
  • Attend and validate FAT at supplier's premises.
  • Write risk assessments and method statements.
  • Provide technical support to field engineers and customers.
  • Occasional chance of needing to work on site.
  • Write the control sections of the Operation & Maintenance and Installation & Commissioning manuals.
  • Troubleshoot customer integration and controls issues including network communications.
Lead EC&I Engineer - The Person:
  • Positive and agile attitude and keen to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex industry related documents.
  • Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in standard and non-standard situations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, MS Visio and Amtech.

This role is commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Telford, Walsall & Dudley. Role would also suit an Electrical Engineer or a Controls Engineer ideally with an electrical background.
