**Job Opportunity:** Buyer - Indirect Categories

We are seeking a skilled Buyer - Indirect Categories to join our client in Chichester on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the indirect procurement function, including services, equipment, and packaging.

About the Role:

  • Take ownership of the procurement process for indirect spend categories.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across high-spend categories.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing performance.
  • Lead, manage, and ensure compliance with the company's Purchasing Policy.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, favourable terms, and robust service levels.
  • Identify procurement risks and work with relevant stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including finance, operations, and project teams, to ensure the alignment of procurement strategies.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, supplier innovations, and best practices in indirect procurement.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal requirements.

About You:

  • You will have proven experience in an indirect procurement role, ideally within the agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
  • You will have experience managing large-spend categories.
  • You will have strong commercial awareness with experience in cost-saving initiatives.
  • You will have experience in managing multiple projects and driving process improvements across indirect procurement categories.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • You will have strong data analysis and reporting skills to track spend, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You will have excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms and supplier agreements.
  • A CIPS qualification or working towards it would be desirable.
  • You will hold a degree in procurement, supply chain, business administration, or a related field.

What We Offer:
