Quantity Surveying Professional

A leading building, rail, and civil engineering contractor, Cityscape has been established for over 50 years. Operating primarily in the South East, they have an annual turnover exceeding £50 million and undertake projects valued up to £5 million. These projects encompass a range of areas, including rail infrastructure, groundworks, highways infrastructure, and car park construction.
In this role as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing up to 3 projects simultaneously, each valued between £1 million-£2 million. These projects will cover various aspects, such as highways, bridge infrastructure, and S278 schemes for residential developers and local authorities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for you to utilize your skills and experience in quantity surveying to contribute to the success of Cityscape. You will work closely with the project delivery and estimating teams to manage costs and ensure timely delivery of payment.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing commercial support to project delivery and estimating teams through effective management of day-to-day tasks.
- Ensuring that all applications for payment and final accounts are presented promptly and in accordance with contractual entitlements.
- Coordinating the procurement and negotiation of sub-contract orders to meet project requirements.
Benefits Package:
This permanent opportunity comes with an attractive compensation package, including an estimated salary of £55,000-£60,000 per annum, based on experience and suitability. The package also includes a car allowance of £7,500, 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private health care, and enrollment in the company's pension scheme and profit commission scheme. Opportunities for career advancement are also available due to the company's structured approach. To be eligible for this position, you should possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, with a proven track record of working on civil engineering infrastructure projects in the UK. A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is highly desirable, along with expertise in NEC forms of contracts. In addition, you must hold a valid UK driving license and reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Cityscape's office in Kent. Hybrid working arrangements are available.
