Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team at Culina Group. As a Transport Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing vehicle utilization, ensuring drivers are briefed and debriefed effectively, and communicating operational impacts to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brief and debrief drivers at the beginning and end of their shifts, including ensuring defects are reported and that all drivers download their digicards.
  • Follow the daily plan to ensure the effective utilization of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors, and agencies.
  • Ensure that sub-contractors are used cost-effectively.
  • Manage PODs.
  • Ensure that ESP is up to date with any changes that occur during the shift.
  • Track and record vehicle movements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Create and manage ASN's for customers where required.
  • Ensure that all drivers are working within a safe environment and follow driver hours' regulations.
  • Liaise with the planning team to optimize fleet/driver utilization, identify and resolve problems affecting delivery on time.
  • Closely liaise with other operators and supervisors to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practices.
  • Support investigations into accidents or issues of driver performance and raise with Supervisors and HR to ensure they are dealt with efficiently and consistently.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritize workload in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office e.g. PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually.
