Pharmacist Leader for Medicines Optimisation

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our medicines optimisation team. As a key member of our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance on medicines optimisation to our Integrated Care Board and member practices.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide medicines optimisation professional expertise to the ICB and member practices.
- To lead the department's medicines value and medicines transformation project team, developing and overseeing ICB medicines value projects to support the delivery of medicines optimisation priorities.
- To support the Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation in implementing and delivering the Medicines Optimisation Strategy for the ICB, deputising as necessary.
- To define current processes, facilitate discussions, and advise colleagues on best practice in medicines use, documenting processes and overseeing their delivery.
- To lead multi-disciplinary working across the ICB and with commissioned providers to ensure a clinical quality and safety approach to medicines optimisation.

Our Integrated Care System serves a population of around 500,000 people across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. We have two acute hospitals, with services delivered by one acute trust, and a specialist orthopaedic hospital. Our partnership includes 51 GP Practices, social care services, and a diverse voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent experience.
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience in clinical pharmacy.
- Higher degree in clinical pharmacy, prescribing science, or equivalent.
- Ability to drive and hold a current driving license.

- Experience of project principles, techniques, and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects.
