About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Cambian Hartlepool School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, preparing materials and resources to enhance student learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with behavioral challenges, promoting positive behavior and reducing stress.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver engaging lessons, incorporating student interests and needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting student well-being and self-esteem.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with behavioral challenges, including de-escalation techniques and positive behavior management.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in SEMH support.
