Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at SLR. As a key member of our geoscience team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the field of geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervising ground investigations and other fieldwork activities
  • Scheduling and managing laboratory testing following ground investigations
  • Installing geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring readings
  • Assisting with the planning and procurement of ground investigations
  • Conducting geotechnical analysis, including limit equilibrium analysis
  • Preparing factual reports
  • Carrying out Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Planning

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Geology, Geological Hazards, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related geology-based discipline
  • A good understanding of the principles of geotechnical engineering and current UK ground investigation techniques, specifications, and standards
  • Graduate level membership of a relevant professional body or eligibility for membership
  • Relevant work experience is not essential, but any demonstrable experience in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering would be an advantage
