The Role
We are seeking a Support Care Specialist to join our team at one of our children's homes in Pontypridd. As a Support Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who share your passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. You will be responsible for providing 24-hour care and support to our children, including assisting with daily living tasks, managing challenging behaviors, and promoting their independence and self-esteem.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Patient, compassionate, and resilient individuals who can provide emotional support and stability to our children;
- Great communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure effective communication with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders;
- A driving license to transport our children to various activities and appointments;
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends;
- Ability to undergo enhanced DBS checks and maintain confidentiality when required.

Working Hours
You will typically work 2-3 days a week, which includes a mix of daytime and night-time shifts. Sleep-ins may be required, but these will be agreed in advance. You will have regular breaks and time off during the day to rest and recharge.
