About the Role

Premier Underwriting Ltd is a leading motor underwriting agency that manages a significant portfolio of insurance premiums. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a strong risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the Directors by reviewing the quality of our activities and those of our business partners through audits, focusing on compliance, documentation, accounting, and procedures.
  • Ensure the group complies with FCA regulatory requirements and implement our FCA compliance and risk management framework.
  • Identify, analyze, and explain regulatory topics and themes, and advise the business on key developments and their impact on the group.
  • Liaise with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) as required to resolve customer complaints.
  • Hold the Compliance Oversight (CF10) function and demonstrate to the regulator that an appropriate level of competence has been achieved and maintained.
Requirements
  • Several years' experience in an FCA-regulated insurance/financial services environment or an audit-type role with a deep understanding of compliance.
  • Good knowledge of FCA requirements and the Regulatory Compliance regime as it applies.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience working within an FCA Compliance role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory framework within the financial services, and particularly the insurance sector.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance business needs with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in designing and delivering FCA Compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting compliance and risk gap analysis, and successfully addressing any identified issues.
  • Some project management experience will also be beneficial.
  • Ability to work away from the office, including overnight stays, to complete technical audit and compliance functions from time to time.
