Pre-Print Roller Build Operator

Main purpose of the role
To work within the Finishing/Holographics Process Department as a flexible team player working across a wide range of production processes and activities including;
- To operate various machines, conversion equipment, ancillary equipment and their associated quality and control systems safely and with due regard for the environment.
- To ensure that the quality requirements for the tasks undertaken are met.
- To produce materials to a high specification free from defects.
Key Accountabilities of the role
- To operate various machines, equipment and processes in a safe and proper manner and meeting the required production targets.
- Responsible for the efficient set up and operation of a variety of machinery involved in the manufacture of high-quality thread/holographic products.
- Ensure all processes are fully and accurately recorded and enter appropriate data into the Information Systems where required.
- Ensure all defects are removed or flagged and recorded.
- To maintain performance levels at all times; packing materials to required standard procedures.
- To provide accurate stock recording and accurately completing of documentation where required.
- Ensure waste levels are minimised.
- Ensure production commitments are met.
- Actively participate in business and process improvement projects and initiatives.
- Providing on-the-job training for new and existing employees where required and help in the developing of training manuals and SOP's.
- Working to 5S standards, ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained, keeping the machines and surrounding areas clean and tidy and disposing of waste in appropriate manner.
- Comply with all security instructions providing assistance where necessary.
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed at all times and that employees are encouraged to take responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others.
Pre-requisites
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience.
- Manufacturing knowledge / experience.
- Excellent numerical and literacy skills are essential.
- Attention to detail is paramount; a good team player with a with a flexible honest approach and willingness to learn.
- Good organisational and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of converting/machine operation processes or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of quality system requirements.
- Knowledge and experience in using Laser Technology is desirable.
