About the Role

  • We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Special Education Needs Teacher to join our team at GSL Education.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism and other special educational needs.
  • As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • You will also provide individualized support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaboration with colleagues and external professionals is essential to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and development is also a key responsibility.
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and carers is crucial to promoting effective communication and collaboration.

  • The school is a special school for children aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties, often linked to special educational needs such as autism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  • Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
