Advanced MRI Radiographer Position for Expert Imaging Professionals

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Advanced MRI Radiographer to join our team. This role involves working closely with Band 7 MRI radiographers to provide high-quality MR services and supporting extended practice for radiographers.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate expertise in some areas of MR scanning, such as neuro, MSK and other body scans, and instigate or complete tasks to improve patient care and service provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and clinically authorise referrals to radiology in line with MHRA and Nice Guidelines.
- Justify imaging requests from clinical details provided and refer to departmental protocols if necessary.
- Ensure a MR safety questionnaire is completed for every MR patient before scanning.
- Expedite the reporting of images where an abnormality that would affect patient management has been detected.
- Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients within this specialist field.
- Liaise promptly with the referrer when clarification regarding selection of the most clinically appropriate imaging examination is required.
- Provide advice to patients regarding their referral and hospital attendance.
- Act in the patient's best interests in relation to their MR scans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography qualification.
- HCPC registration.
- NHS experience.
- Postgraduate experience.
- Demonstrable ability to meet Trust values.
- Able to take advice and instruction from others.
- Have an orderly approach to work and be neat and tidy.
- Be able to work under pressure effectively.
- Able to communicate effectively on all levels with patients and staff alike.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £56,691 per annum, plus benefits including pension scheme, life assurance and annual leave.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Advanced MRI Radiographer who can demonstrate expertise in some areas of MR scanning and support extended practice for radiographers.
You will have a BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography qualification, HCPC registration, NHS experience and postgraduate experience.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and clinically authorising referrals to radiology, justifying imaging requests and ensuring patient safety.
