Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join our team at Reeson Education. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive attitudes towards education and ensuring that parents are aware of their statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact parents to discuss attendance and punctuality issues
  • Notify the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead of any concerns regarding individual pupil attendance
  • Respond to pupil requests for leave during the school term
  • Monitor the attendance of vulnerable students
  • Meet with school staff, pupils, and parents to establish reasons for non-attendance/poor punctuality and agree a plan to tackle the issues
  • Manage the process of addressing poor attendance
  • Follow up referrals relating to school attendance in accordance with the attendance policy
  • Communicate with parents/carers or local authority as required

Requirements:

  • Experience in attendance, data entry, and analysis
  • Prior knowledge of SIMS and Excel
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate resilience and motivation
