The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious and self-motivated students with an interest in Naval Architecture to join our team. As a Year in Industry student, you will receive training from our experienced professionals who will mentor you throughout your tenure. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality solutions to enhance BMT's globally recognised design and engineering capabilities. You will be involved in formulating solutions for intricate problems, interpreting and communicating results, and contributing to the advancement of innovative analysis methods and processes.

About You:
We are looking for students who possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Currently studying for an academic degree (or its equivalent) in a scientific or engineering field such as Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ship Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics;
  • An interest in pursuing a career in a specialist technical engineering field focused on naval architecture, ship science, and hydrodynamics;
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and software (such as Computer-aided Design (CAD), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Python) would be considered an advantage;

Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £23,000 - £28,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a range of benefits, including private medical insurance, enhanced pension scheme, 18 weeks enhanced maternity pay (after a qualifying period of 1 year), family friendly policies, wellbeing fund, holiday trading, and professional subscriptions.
