About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at DMC Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ENT clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with our Referral Management Centre to ensure accurate appointment scheduling for clinics.
  • Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are set up and ready for use prior to each clinic.
  • Manage stock control and inventory at each site, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working order.
  • Assist the consultant during clinics with any reasonable requests, providing high-level customer service skills and full engagement with the clinician.
  • Meet and greet patients in the waiting area, show them to the consultation room, and ensure that all necessary paperwork and surveys are completed.
  • Assist with minor procedures as required, and ensure that all DMC equipment is properly stored and maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, such as Estates and Supplies, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Act as a chaperone in supporting both patients and clinicians during clinical procedures, adhering to infection control and prevention protocols.
  • Manage clinical stock levels, ordering, storage, and stock controls to ensure efficient use of resources.
Person Specification
  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
  • Band 2, preferably Band 3 HCA experience.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills to effectively manage and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and problem-solve.
  • Ability to apply regulatory requirements and escalate where necessary.
  • Excellent patient engagement, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Empathetic approach to patients.
  • Ideal experience in the last 2 years in the UK as an HCA, with hands-on interaction with patients in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in outpatient or hospital settings.
  • Right to work in the UK (DMC Healthcare is unable to provide visa sponsorship).
