Salary
The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a DV Bonus of £3,000 to £6,000, which is subject to individual clearance and project requirements.

Job Description
As a Senior Software Development Lead or Android Systems Architect Specialist, your role may involve individual contributor tasks, Scrum Master responsibilities, or both, depending on the projects you are assigned to. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Applying your software expertise as an individual contributor to help develop complex software systems or taking on Software Architect responsibilities to define and shape solutions;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define functional and non-functional requirements for embedded and/or user interface software projects;
  • Creating lower-level design, implementation, and test solutions, in line with the defined architecture;
  • Helping to guide the selection of appropriate technologies and tools in collaboration with DevOps engineers;
  • Supporting and promoting adherence to coding standards, best practices, planning documentation, procedures for software development and delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers;

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Proficiency in C++, preferably embedded C++;
  • Knowledge of other languages such as C, C#, JavaScript, Python, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g. containerisation / Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, micro service architecture, version control);
  • Strong object-oriented design and programming skills (OOD, OOP);
  • A proven track record of delivering reliable, maintainable software across the lifecycle, including peer review;
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
